In addition to our expert service, maintenance, and applicable repairs, we offer full Restoration and complete Rebuilding of pianos. First and foremost, of course, for the Bösendorfer, as this demanding piano is at the center our field of expertise, but certainly also for all other major brands. As a matter of fact, because we are located in New York City, large parts of our clientele are New York Steinway owners, who too truly cherish how we can improve their instruments.
Our standard is equally as high as the manufacturer’s in Vienna, with the added benefit of large-scale exposure to a multitude of first tier brands. All our restored and rebuilt, as well as pre-owned pianos are outfitted with the Gerhard Feldmann Certificate after completion of work to the highest level of scrutiny and quality control. The perfect example of a completely restored & rejuvinated Bosendorfer is of course The WunderKind!
Pianos have accompanied us human beings since the 18th century. Many fine instruments of the 19th century however, are still around and qualify for attention. Pianos from the 20th century that have been played extensively, or, as is sometimes is the unfortunate case, been neglected, are in need of restoration to their original glory. Don’t hesitate to contact us to find out what we can do for you and your piano. Help us carry on the legacy of excellence in pianos!
Restoration involves a variety of highly complicated processes, involving the interrelation of the various critically suspended parts and elements which make up the piano. Equally important thus is the highly specialized technician and rebuilder who is able to realize the full potential of the instrument and bring it back to life – and, as it happens in our atelier, often surpassing the previous qualities.
Some of the restoration processes include: Soundboard Repair or Replacement, Pin block Repair or Replacement, Restringing, Rebronzing, Action Rebuilding, Keyboard Repair, Case Repair, and Total Refinishing.
