To mark the occasion of
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 250th
birthday, we present this special
Bösendorfer grand piano to
honor that singular artist who has
long since come to epitomize
"musical genius." This Limited
Edition design represents one
each of the 27 timeless piano
concertos written by the composer.
The name, Köchel number, and
year of the concerto's composition
are engraved at the left key block.
In this way, each one-of-a-kind
piano reflects in its own
unsurpassed beauty the precious
uniqueness of every one
of these musical masterpieces.
Stylistically, the Bösendorfer Mozart
grand piano adapts and combines
several different elements of the
"classical" style deriving from the
late 18th century. The distinctively
rounded lyre posts and legs, as well
as the lid, are all decorated with
resplendent enrichments of gold leaf.
On the ornately worked music shelf,
the unmistakable profile of the
composer is set into a gold-etched
oval emblem.
In some sense, the musical legacy
of Vienna begins with Mozart. And,
as one of the present day keepers
of that tradition, Bösendorfer here
pays tribute to that genius who was
among the very first to realize the
possibilities of what was for him a
very new instrument.
