The Model Millennium I was created in 1996 to commemorate one thousand years of Austria, celebrating the nation's first designation by name in 996 A.D. This singular region has seen no few changes in its borders or political regime in these thousand years, but the modern nation of Austria is one defined by a strong cultural identity emerging from a long and resplendent historical backdrop. Looking at and listening to a Bösendorfer, one recognizes instantly that these instruments represent a culture which has never abandoned its emphasis on craftsmanship, tradition and quality.

The external wall, top and fallboard of this instrument are made of pyramid mahogany, with an inlay of gold leaf. The famous Bösendorfer emblem is meticulously worked into the keyboard cover in gold leaf and proudly framed by the former Imperial emblem of the double-headed eagle. This was an exclusive privilege afforded to Bösendorfer as the exclusive imperial and royal provider of pianos.

The Millennium I piano is limited to special order. Please inquire if the series can still accomodate your request.
