A certain transitional style between late Baroque and Classicism is often referred to as "Louis-Seize" after monarch Louis XVI of France. The Classical era's return to the world of antiquity is made manifest in a reappearance of naturalistic forms, such as baskets of flowers, willow boughs, garlands of fruit, and ribbons. In the Louis XVI Edition, Bösendorfer proudly features this distinguished and representative aesthetic in which Baroque blends into the lively, whimsical Rococo - the last sparks of life in the nobility's court culture. The proportions of this royal instrument are well-balanced and refined, as the decorations and flourishes are graceful and daintily built to portray that exact moment where passion turns into poise.

It is in the spirit of rediscovery and a proud "return to the past" that Bösendorfer presents the highly unique Louis XVI piano.
