"The piano is my second self" Frédéric Chopin once said.
To commemorate the 150th Anniversary of Chopin's passing away, Bösendorfer presented a masterpiece of antique styling and superior technical workmanship for which all Bösendorfer pianos are so renowned. The detailed hand-carvings on these pianos are inspired by the instruments that the master played while on tour in England and Scotland in 1848, in the last year of his life. The hand-engraved plaque on the fallboard is produced in solid silver and then gold plated with a replica of the composer's signature. Gold-leaf bandings enhance the detail of the wood carving.
In every way, this is an instrument which retains the elegance and refinement of Chopin's own musical legacy. "A second self" in which this pianist-composer par excellence would have no doubt found himself looking and sounding very elegant indeed.
