The Baroque edition, which is built at that level of unsurpassed craftsmanship and refined detail which distinguishes the Bösendorfer piano, makes direct stylistic references to an era that lasted roughly from the end of the 16th Century until about 1730. Historically speaking, the piano embodies an aesthetic movement which spread outward from post-Renaissance Italy to all Catholic countries, flourishing into those noble and symmetrical forms which constitute that which is called "Baroque."

A sense of powerful reverence and aesthetic rationalism are expressed in curved forms, where individual elements are subordinated to the whole. The forces of this era were ones which formulated harmonies in between great extremes and tensions, where an ornamentalism of dynamic movements, three-dimensional forms, and deep historical resonances came together as the hallmarks of a glorified time. The hand-carved piano legs and ornamentation are unique pieces and are crafted specifically for this highly individual instrument.
