THE NEW DIMENSION UNSURPASSED SOUND
Using a sophisticated design approach which differs radically from other speaker technologies, Bösendorfer Loudspeakers produce lifelike sound absolutely true to the actual listening experience, incorporating more than 175 years of acoustical tradition and expertise to create The New Audiophile Standard.
Hans Deutsch, who has designed speakers since 1970 and has worked closely with the great conductor Herbert von Karajan, considers the Bösendorfer loudspeaker his crowning achievement. The breathtakingly realistic experience of listening to a Bösendorfer loudspeaker is attracting countless audio critics, HiFi aficionados, musicians, and connoisseurs of true sound worldwide.
THE ACOUSTIC ACTIVE PRINCIPLE
The basic acoustic principle for any instrument is such: Without resonance, there can not be lifelike sound. Bösendorfer loudspeakers are instruments in themselves. They reproduce essential resonances, allowing the sounds to unfold in all their spectacular, natural beauty.
Simplicity and a premium quality of construction lead to new standards of True-to-Life (TM) sound reproduction. Bösendorfer loudspeaker cabinets contain no additional damping material. The cabinet proportions themselves, acoustically and empirically optimized, are the major factor in sound reproduction. The result is a sound of unbelievable lightness and airiness. Music is reproduced with active acoustic fullness and precision. One of the Acoustic Active Principle's fundamental goals is distortion minimization, as opposed to distortion correction by crossover filters, which actually produce new distortion. Bösendorfer and Hans Deutsch have created speakers, which, by their absolute ideal dimensions and design, are capable of achieving all the desired frequencies.
THE HORNRESONATOR
Minimal bass distortion is the basis to produce natural sound. Bösendorfer loudspeakers employ powerful 130 mm bass drivers coupled with large 'Acoustic SoundBoards'. They are horn shaped and extend from the resonator tube. The 'deep bass filter' at the beginning of the resonator tube ensures the correct frequency range, preventing sound coloration caused by the horn. The tunable Acoustic SoundBoards feature a 'double output' function: air floats between the cabinet and the board. The boards function as active sound-producing diaphragms with no over-resonances. The advantage of Acoustic SoundBoards compared to 'passive radiators' is the increase in impulse dynamics, and thereby the decrease in after-vibrations. This effect is caused by their acoustic-pneumatic coupling with the bass drivers.
HANS DEUTSCH
Austrian musician and acoustics expert Hans Deutsch has been developing High Performance loudspeakers since 1970. His first opus "Organ" attracted the attention of maestro Herbert von Karajan, who encouraged him to construct the models "Amadeus" and "Odessa". Mr. Deutsch then collaborated with artists of the Salzburg Festival, such as Leonard Bernstein, John Eaton, and Giorgio Strehler. He discovered the Acoustic Active Principle and the HornResonator and began licensing his patents internationally. Among his own creations are the models "Poseidon", "dell'arte", "Antares", "Light", "Skyline", "Harley", "Vario Star", "Hammond", "Madrigal", and "Amadei-V". Hans Deutsch Loudspeakers have earned critical acclaim and rave reviews in the audiophile press, with commendations such as the 'Loudspeaker of the Year' in Germany's "HiFiVision". Hans Deutsch's crowning achievement is the Bösendorfer Loudspeaker series based on the Acoustic Active Principle. The breathtakingly realistic sound experience is attracting countless journalists, hi-fi aficionados, musicians and connoisseurs of true sound worldwide.
