Gerhard Feldmann
Gerhard Feldmann has a long and personal history with Bösendorfer, having begun his career more than 35 years ago as an apprentice at the Bösendorfer piano factory in Vienna, Austria. He has subsequently traveled the world as a Bösendorfer master concert technician, contributing to the legacy of the Viennese Sound, one piano at a time. With his training, there is no one more perfectly suited to represent Bösendorfer in New York City.

Mr. Feldmann is the only Bösendorfer factory trained technician in the United States with 14 years of manufacturer experience. He is a piano and concert technician of world renown, an outstanding specialist in the workings of the piano action and voicing of hammers, as well as restoration of older instruments, set aside of concert preparation and recording provisions. Gerhard Feldmann is an avid piano player with an astounding in-depth knowledge of classical music who has worked with all the major names of the international concert stages, assisting them with the most tailored rendering of their pianos.

Mr. Feldmann has been a key insider in the piano world for many years. For a decade, from 1993 to 2003, Mr. Feldmann operated Gerhard Feldmann Concert Service Inc., providing grand pianos for concerts and recordings, sale, as well as piano repair and rebuilding, tuning, voicing and maintenance, for a tremendous roster of individuals and institutions. Before founding his own firm, from 1982 to 1993, he was a technical director for piano dealers in Melbourne- Australia, Dallas and New York.

From 1979 to 1985, Mr. Feldmann was head technician for Bösendorfer’s concert, service & repair department, based at then Bösendorfer’s US headquarters in French Lick, IN. He had previously served as a Bösendorfer international Concert Technician throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. He began his career in 1972 as an apprentice at the Bösendorfer Klavierfabrik piano factory in Vienna, Austria.

A native of Berndorf, Austria, Mr. Feldmann owns and operates Bösendorfer New York together with his business partner, Lisa Feldmann. He is known throughout the international music community as Bösendorfer’s greatest champion, immensely and uniquely qualified to represent the great history and tradition of these legendary pianos.
